Library signs

UTS Library has great examples of clear, helpful and friendly signs. They have several screens where they show useful information about the library. This example shows the social media ways students can connect with UTS Library.

#oznzreads

The April reading theme for #readit2011was #oznzreads.   This was to highlight Australian and New Zealand writing.  It was also #bookbinge month.

I read two Matthew Reilly e-audio books Ice station which is a great mix of brains and strength (and some amazing wildlife) and Area 7 which has some fun conspiracies as well as a big range of transport methods.

I also read
  • Manhunting by Jennifer Crusie - resort meets strategic objectives (e-book)
  • Funnel web by Richard Ryan includes nuclear mutated funnel web spiders
  • Sean Williams Books of the change trilogy : The Stone mage and the sea, The sky wardens and the sun, The stormweaver and the sand.  Featuring South Australian landscape and Indigenous characters.  Also read The crooked letter and The blood debt which continue the story started in the Books of the change
  • Jamie does...More fun ways with food from Jamie Oliver
  • Witi Ihimaera The whale rider - episodic with strong characters and setting, very impressive sense of place
  • Garth Nix The old kingdom series Sabriel, Lirael (with sword wielding librarians), Abhorsen
  • Also read Jamie, delcious, four issues of New Scientist and Lonely Planet Mexico City Guide
There also were about half a dozen books I started but chose to not finish
